Insly joined over 200 other exhibitors and 9,000 visitors at the annual BIBA Conference in Manchester on the 15th and 16th May.
The BIBA Conference is the highlight of the UK insurance calendar and this year the Insly team joined over 200 exhibitors showcasing their products, services, and expertise at the event.
The Insly team loves meeting and networking with our insurance colleagues and clients, and BIBA 2024 was the ideal platform. With thousands of insurance companies, MGAs, and brokers under one roof, it was an opportunity to reconnect with some existing contacts face-to-face, as well as meet some exciting new prospects and potential partners.
We welcomed over a hundred MGAs, insurers, and brokers to our stand over the two days, to demonstrate our low-code solutions, and discuss how we can help businesses streamline processes, maximise data, and boost profitability.
The conference theme was ‘What’s next?’, and for many of the MGAs and insurers we spoke to, the current focus is distribution, with broker partnerships remaining critical to reaching end customers. Many underwriters are keen to expand their broker networks and help their existing partners to optimise their sales, marketing, and new technologies, to maximise current revenue streams.
We were also excited to see what else was happening around the conference. Highlights included the first-ever Cyber Hub, showcasing the latest in cyber technology, insights, and an interactive “beat-the-hacker” game. The conference itself was also subject to higher security than usual due to the organised, peaceful protests taking place outside.
We were impressed with the breadth of the speaker programme and particularly enjoyed the panel discussion on ‘The March of AI and what brokers need to consider’ on the Seminar Stage. Moderated by Shân Millie, a corporate innovation specialist and AI thought leader, it focused on how to identify the latest AI technologies, analyse their practical application, plus risks and regulation.
Panel members included Joanne Sykes, Director of UK Broker Market at Markel, who spoke about AI’s role “behind the scenes” in prospecting and customer communications. She was joined by Chris Rolland, CEO of AllClear, who outlined how his team is using AI to streamline and innovate its marketing, pricing, and administration processes.
